After a visit to the Paddlefest up at Nottingham a few weeks ago, a couple more trips to Desperate Measures and abusing my bank account I have now taken delivery of a new Liquid Logic Biscuit 55.
I don’t profess to be a playboater nor am I going to become a playboat star overnight but I thought I would treat myself. My previous boat, a LL Bigwheel (for sale here) was a little too small for my long legs resulting in 30 minutes of play to every 30 minutes of stretching my legs and feet out again, although it was easy to throw about on the river and in the pool.
The shape of the Biscuit immediately makes it more comfy for me to sit for extended periods of time. The comfy seat and ‘comfort cone’ in the front of the boat made it instantly fit and there was only minor changes to make before it was fitted to my preferences. I am still shaping the foot block foam a little to make it just right.
The Biscuit has loads of volume and a bumper to get more air time, I am not one to regularly succeed in loops and the like but the bumper does give is a feeling of stability when on an end and certainly helps to creates more upward momentum. I can see me getting better when the boats on the vertical. The loose fast hull is great on waves and I found surfing, spinning and playing in features very smooth and easy to control, getting it into a hole I found it easy to manoeuvre and very responsive, spins and split wheels were fast and slick to pull off and only limited by my skill levels . Once upside down it’s easy to get a fast roll going and I found that I don’t have to think to much about it before I am back up.
Now enthused to improve my playboating hopefully I will see loops, cleaner cartwheels and a more fluid performance becoming part of my repertoire, and with a boat this nice to paddle it will be a pleasure to improve.

Big thanks to the guys at Desperate Measures for allowing me to demo, demo, demo again and sorting the new toy out for me.
